It can be difficult to find the right laptop for your child. Do you choose something cheaper if your child is younger? Security concerns? Don't worry if you don't know where to begin. We have a few quick tips for parents who are worried. You can find the information below.
All you need to get a Windows laptop for school is the basics. A Core i3 processor from Intel is sufficient for general-purpose tasks such as surfing the internet, writing papers, and making presentations. Unless your child likes to play Minecraft, a discrete graphics card isn't necessary. We recommend the Nvidia RTX3060 Ti or 3050 Ti for budding gamers. They are relatively affordable.
8GB RAM will keep things running smoothly. If your child doesn't have many photos, 256GB will suffice. SSDs (solid state drives) are faster and more quiet than hard drives.
If you are looking for a Chromebook, you should consider a mid-range model. You'll find Intel Pentium processors in the $400-$600 range, which offer better browser performance and can run more demanding gaming apps. We recommend at least 8GB RAM and 64GB storage. As you will be storing most your work in the cloud, you don't need much storage space.
